What does it mean if I had a dream about my mom who passed 12 years ago waking up from her coma and asking for my dad? I have never had a dreams about her since she has been gone.

She might have been recuperating in the “Places of Rest” in the Afterlife - that’s why you never had any dreams, she was sleeping - as some souls need a lot of sleep and rest before they can start acclimating on the Other Side and contacting living relatives. From her perspective - she might feel that she was in a coma and did not realize that she died. If your dad is also on the Other Side - he will come to meet her as she is asking for him. But if he is still living she would have to wait till he dies, or she can watch his life from the Hereafter. Her Guides and other family members who passed will be helping her.
